Darius Siryon, 25, Allegedly Sodomized and Cut off the Tongue of 17 Year old Henry Giddings

A seventeen year old boy became the center of attention this week after a picture of him with his tongue cut off emerged on the media. Henry Giddings, known as T-Boy, was found unconscious and in a pool of blood on the morning of February 5th by his mother Angeline Peabody and other residents of the community. Sources claim that he was attending the wake of a relative when the incident occurred. He was later taken to the JFK Hospital where doctors discovered that his tongue was severed and he might have been drugged by his attackers.

Police have arrested suspect 25 year old Darius Siryon in connection with this incident. According to the preliminary probe, Siryon claims he was attacked that night and bit the victim’s tongue during the fight. Meanwhile, Giddings’ family has called on the Liberia National Police to ensure that perpetrators of this dreadful act are brought to justice.

President Weah Dedicates New Duala Market

On Thursday, February 10, President George M. Weah dedicated the newly constructed Duala Market on Bushrod Island. This was a joint project of the governments of Liberia and Japan. Weah urged marketers to take care of the new facility and keep it clean. This structure is in line with his goal of restoring Liberia’s infrastructure.

Representative Yekeh Kolubah Takes Two Trophies into Plenary

Representative Yekeh Kolubah of District 10, Montserrado County, took two trophies for the winners of the supposed fight between him and his colleagues, Representative Acarous Gray and Representative Saah Foko. Both Gray and Foko of the President’s CDC party, have vowed to beat up Kolubah if he continues insulting President Weah in the House Chamber.

A 33 year old man charged with raping a 13 year old minor

Prince Massaquoi of the Camp Johnson Road community has been charged with statutory rape in a case involving a minor in the same household. He was arrested on January 20th and after a complaint was filed with the Women and Children Protection Section of the Liberia National Police by Amos Y. Hare, a guardian of the victim.

The victim was in serious condition when taken to the hospital and died a few days later. Initial investigations have determined that the rape incident was not the cause of death.

Monrovia City Court Dismisses Charges Against Musa Bility

Liberty Party’s Chairman, Musa Hassan Bility, and its Secretary General, Martin S. Kollah, have been set free by the Monrovia City Court. All charges of forgery, criminal facilitation and criminal conspiracy filed against them on behalf of Liberty Party were dismissed by Magistrate Jomah Jallah on Thursday, February 10. Judge Jallah said that the lack of legal standing, and case records that failed to show Liberty Party using its formal authority to address the allegations.
